Who are they?
Based in the heart of a metropolitan area similar to London and New York - Milan, they're a place for art, industry, design and fashion.
It is no coincidence, that IED draws inspiration for its teaching methods from the thinking and innovation typical of Milan and its history.
''IED Milano is all about designing goods and services for industry and with industry, it is where design and all its ramifications is taught, celebrated and practised.''
For more than fifty years, the Istituto Europeo di Design has been offering courses in the disciplines of design, fashion, visual communication and management.
- IED Design
- IED Fashion
- IED Visual Arts
- IED Communication
…all underpinned by design culture.
What type of courses do they offer?
IED offer Undergraduate courses, IED Diploma courses, Masters and degrees, Academic year and Semester courses, Summer/Winter courses and specialization courses.
IED's teaching methods include creating strong bonds with the local industry; benchmark sectors and interacting with each other to evolve. For these reasons, rather than just keeping in step with their times, the IED courses are thriving trend anticipators.
IED also represents an innovation hub - where professionals, from a variety of backgrounds, gather to provide the input for a cross-fertilisation between areas and disciplines.
‘’IED forms a truly unique network of encounters, experiences, people and cultures. The outcome is excellence.’’
Over 2,000 foreign students enrol on their courses every year. To date, the IED has trained students from about 100 different countries.
