Bocconi University

Excellence from day 1

I took a short walk from IED to find Bocconi University, situated just a 10-minute stroll south of the city.

Università Bocconi is an impressive campus built up over 100 years that dominates much of the area just south of the city and has exciting plans for development. Bocconi believes that excellence is based on a person's academic profile combined with his or her values and cultural and ethical background. If I had to choose one word to sum up Bocconi it would be progressive.

Students choose Bocconi because of its reputation for providing students with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for a successful career. Bocconi have long recognised that students want a focused and valuable education that will help them grow.

Talking of alumni, students who join Bocconi, become part of a thriving community of students and graduates. Bocconi’s network of over 100,000 alumni are located all over the world, in a variety of careers. Access to a community for a lifetime, which helps graduates to get ahead wherever they are in the world is something which will help your career both in the short and long term.

The take on career planning at Bocconi is one of great interest, students access a careers counsellor network from day one. As well as making new friends and accessing alumni, students can tap into a huge network which will help them climb the career ladder quicker. The careers counsellor is there to help students network and take advantage of some of the best opportunities for placements and internships which is used as experiential learning.

There seemed to be a sense of developing a culture of self-awareness throughout the university which seemed far more important than qualifications.

Being based in a city of culture, you could see that both students and staff members were curious about the world outside Milan and that students were being prepared to work in the global world, ready for new challenges, with an appreciation for understanding culture before they conducted business.

Università Bocconi is divided into the following Schools: Undergraduate School; Grad School; School of Law; and PhD School.

You are probably more interested in programmes in the Undergraduate School. Click here to find out more information on the programmes available to you.
